Bonafarm fields of operation

Every product at Bonafarm has its own story written by the Group from the foreword to the end. Every single letter of this story represents the centuries-old tradition of our predecessors. This is why every Bonafarm story has a happy ending, with top-quality food and drinks served.

Crop production

We grow crops on a total of over 27,000 hectares of plough-land. We produce not only eared crops, corn, oleaginous crops and soya bean for food products, but also fodder crops for our pigs, chicken and cattle. We use state-of-the-art technology and crop varieties and pay close attention to keeping our soil fertile. As a result, our average yields are among the best in Hungary. We produce approximately 80,000 tons of corn, 35,000 tons of autumn wheat, 7,500 tons of barley, 7,000 tons of soy-bean and 6,500 tons of rape.

For years the companies of the Bonafarm Group have been proud members of the largest international associations of variety owners, resulting in our sowing seeds being used all over the world thanks to our expertise and technological readiness. We are also experimenting with modern crop growing technological solutions and the latest varieties to ensure the highest possible yields while utilising our natural resources as economically as possible.

Our agricultural production is environmentally friendly and sustainable thanks to no-till farming. New solutions always require an updated technical background and readiness for application. For this reason, we continuously upgrade our fleet of machines and train our colleagues. In 2011 we purchased four 600 HP Caterpillar-tractors and agricultural machinery with wide working areas to allow fewer passes to prepare the same size of land. That allowed us to reduce gasoline consumption as well as soil treading and compacting, one result of which is that planted seeds can grow at an optimal rate.

Liquid manure is a by-product of livestock breeding and is used as a nutrient for crop production. Our arable lands and livestock farms are favourably located. The pig farms and the cattle farms produce 60,000 and 50,000 cubic metres of liquid manure respectively each year, which is delivered to the fields using modern Holmer machines in an environmentally friendly way and in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
