Bonafarm fields of operation

Every product at Bonafarm has its own story written by the Group from the foreword to the end. Every single letter of this story represents the centuries-old tradition of our predecessors. This is why every Bonafarm story has a happy ending, with top-quality food and drinks served.

Pig breeding

On a total of 18 farms and in cooperation with over 120 partners, Fiorács Kft., Bóly Zrt. and Dalmand Zrt. of the Bonafarm Group produce approximately 350,000 fattening pigs each year. We cherish our pigs and always put together their diet to suit their age, health condition and the season. Our state-of-the-art farms are climate controlled to keep their general condition and appetite high. That contributes to our fattening pigs being among the best meat industry raw materials, allowing Pick Szeged Zrt. to make its products from top quality meat.

The pig breeding programme of Bonafarm runs along two lines. On the one hand, Fiorács Kft. uses the DanBred hybrid breed to fatten pigs based on over 8,000 breeding sows. On the other hand, the Szilfás nucleus farm of Dalmandi Zrt. has been using the Rattlerow-Seghers breed with excellent genes since 2008 to provide the Bóly farms with breeding animals.

The right breed selection and the appropriate technological and professional background is illustrated by the annual volume of 10,000–12,000 breeding store pigs, which are free from the eight major diseases causing significant economic damage. The result is that the veterinary costs of rearing the pigs is well below the Hungarian average. Some of the piglets are further bred by German, Dutch, Czech, Slovenian, Croatian and Russian breeders.

Within the pig integration system, the members of the company group supply over 120 integrated partners with piglets and provide continuous professional and veterinary monitoring as well as top quality fodder. Our companies improve fodder production in cooperation with Bonafarm-Bábolna Takarmány Kft. to increase productivity and lower production costs. Fodder is fed to the pigs by a computer controlled system to ensure that they get their exact daily portion.

The active cooperation between our pig breeding and crop producing companies yields significant economic advantages. For instance, the damp corn we produce can be used as fodder, allowing us to save on drying costs. Delivering the liquid manure from the animal farms in a carefully planned and environmentally friendly manner saves costs in comparison to artificial fertilizers.
